Validis website

To coincide with our development team moving away from a commercial website Content Management System to one they had written themselves (with some input from me about my needs as well), the Marketing redesigned the company marketing website to move to the new CMS. This was mainly because it would have been a lot of unnecessary effort to move and clean up the old design, and it was aging quite badly anyway.

With the text also being rewritten for the new site, the deadline fell very quickly and it became quite a rush to finish this site. It wasn’t a critical success within the company either (the main issue being the lack of whitespace on the homepage), and so practically as soon as it was uploaded work quietly began on version 2.

The website was designed in HTML and CSS, and javascript was used let the menu work (it extended outwards if there were sub_menu items inside.

Look at the screenshot below to get a feel for what version 1 looked like. This screenshot is taken from the mockup Photoshop file, so the end result was a bit cleaner. Internal pages took the same general form as this, with each page having an individual image that sat below the user bar (the one with the four horizontal images) at the top.
