Another favourite peice of university work, d3r3k the robot is the outcome of the third year 3D modelling and compositing course.
The brief was to put a combination of compositing skills into practice, such as putting a 3D model into “real world” DV footage, particle effects, green-screening and human-3d model interaction. The final video was 40 seconds long.
Over the 2 months of the module, d3r3k the robot happily walked the corridors of Electronics, until I conspired with myself to push him down the stairs, with comedy effects. The sound effects and “music” were added at the last minute but I think they really worked with the video.
